Valentine Mantel

I'm almost finished with my Valentine Mantel and I couldn't wait to share it with you! It started with my Valentine Garland that I posted last week.

Valentines Day, Owls, Hearts

I made the Owl Word Art in PicMonkey.  This is the version I used on my mantel -

Valentine Word Art by Crafty In Crosby

I also made a vintage version that Leigh and I really loved.
But my mantel is just too white for it.

The vase on the end is a dollar store glass vase covered in twine and spray painted red.  Then I just sat it on top of a glass candlestick.  I think I need to add some flowers or maybe some branches painted white with hearts? I also used 2 iron trivets behind it along with a valentine candle that my Mom gave me.

The bottles in the middle are Starbucks Frappucino bottles. I spray painted them first and the coverage wasn't great.  I think it was too cold in the garage along with the cheap spray paint.  So I just used gesso on top of the spray paint and they have a nice matte finish. I made the letters in PicMonkey and glued them on top of 3" strips of scrapbook paper that I used a scalloped edge punch on. Topped them off with a little bakers twine that I scored at Target in the Dollar Spot and they were done!

Here are the letters in case you want to make your own -

Check back next week for the completed version. Still have 4 weeks until Valentines, so I have plenty of time for finishing touches.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!
