Interchangeable Coffee Filter Wreath

Last summer Leigh made a coffee filter wreath that we used for a bridal shower and I loved it so much that I used it through the fall. While it was beautiful plain (see it here), I wanted to decorate it for Valentine's Day. We started with doily hearts, but Leigh thought it needed an arrow too. So after church today, I dashed over to Wally World and picked up some red feathers and heart ribbon.

It is the perfect complement to the Valentine's decor we already had, plus Ty made me the sweet little heart arrangement today in Sunday school. His arrangement was the perfect finishing touch!

The best part of this wreath is that the decorations come right off and won't damage it. Here's my secret - toothpicks! I just hot glued them to the back of the arrow and hearts and stuck them into the styrofoam form. Just a dab of hot glue and hold the pick in place for a minute until it stands on it's own.

Let the glue dry completely and then stick it into the wreath. Quick and easy and I'll be able to use this wreath again and again!

The arrow is a dowel rod cut to size, with red feathers glued on the end and a bit of ribbon glued around the top of the feathers. Then glue a piece around the shaft of the arrow all the way to the tip. The tip is just two heart shaped doilies from Hobby Lobby. Glue one on top and one behind.

I absolutely adore vintage postcards and always try to use my owl vase to display seasonal cards. These were printed as wallet size (2.5" x 3.5") and mounted on red and white cardstock.

Here are the four postcards that I found on Pinterest, in case you wanted to print some for yourself.

I absolutely adore Ty's heart arrangement! Thanks Mom for helping him with it! My Mom teaches his Sunday School class and is always coming up with adorable things for the kids to make.

Now I'm going to start dreaming up St. Patrick's Day and Easter decorations for my wreath. I plan on using it as often as possible.

Can't believe this weekend is already over! Hope you had a marvelous one and here's to an equally fabulous week!
